DESCRIPTION:In the Career Service’s project “Queer Life – Between Persecution & Emancipation” international students of JGU and the FORTHEM Alliance – with the help of the Haus des Erinnerns Mainz – spent months  exploring questions of identity\, gender\, sexual orientation\, and social norms to uncover the hidden stories of queer people in different countries throughout history. What was discovered during the project is now being showcased in a project presentation and a workshop. And you can join in! \n“Queer Life – Between Persecution & Emancipation” | Join us to discover queer stories\, experiences\, and perspectives \nThe project presentation will showcase the results of the collaborative research. It will feature\nhistorical and contemporary personal accounts from notable queer figures in Mainz\, as well as from\nthe rest of Germany\, Spain\, Eastern Europe\, and non-European countries. SUMMARY:Ausstellungseröffnung | Jüdische Juristinnen und Juristinnen jüdischer Herkunft
DESCRIPTION:Die Wanderausstellung des Deutschen Juristinnenbundes zum Thema „Jüdische Juristinnen und Juristinnen jüdischer Herkunft“ porträtiert 17 Frauen\, die viele weitere jüdische oder von den\nNationalsozialisten als jüdisch verfolgte Juristinnen der ersten Juristinnengeneration repräsentieren.\nErgänzt werden die Biografien durch Tafeln u.a. mit Erläuterungen zur Zulassung von Frauen zu den\njuristischen Berufen\, zur Gründung des Deutschen Juristinnenvereins 1914\, zu Berufsverboten\, Vertreibung\, Ermordung\, Exil\, Remigration und Restitution. \nDie Juristinnen haben sich ihr Jurastudium\, den Abschluss mit dem Zweiten Staatsexamen und ihre\njuristische Berufstätigkeit in Deutschland oft hart und noch in höherem Alter erkämpft und ein paar\nJahre später alles wieder verloren. Die Ausstellung folgt dem Leben und Wirken einige dieser\nJuristinnen. Über die Erinnerung an Einzelschicksale hinaus zeigt sie die wichtige Rolle dieser Frauen in\nder Weimarer Republik für das Entstehen der Demokratie auf\, weist auf ihren Anteil beim Entstehen des Feldes der sozialen Arbeit hin und auf ihren Anteil beim Kampf der Frauen um gleiche Rechte. \nDie Ausstellung wird in Mainz bis zum 29. Mai 2026 an zwei Orten zu sehen sein: Ein Teil mit einführenden Texten und einigen Biografien auf dem Campus der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz im Foyer des Hauses Recht und Wirtschaft I (Jakob-Welder-Weg 9) und ein zweiter Teil – vor allem mit Biografien – im Haus des Erinnerns – für Demokratie und Akzeptanz. \nAnmeldung zur Ausstellungseröffnung erforderlich bis 24.
